December 21, 2020

JMLAB Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Genzen, MD, PhD, answers common questions people have about the first SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in a new video resource originally produced to help educate JMLAB’s workforce.

JM-Laboratories has made a new resource available to laboratory leaders and others in healthcare to help explain how the first FDA-approved SARS-CoV-2 vaccines work.

The 12-minute video, available for free on JMLAB’s YouTube channel, features JMLAB’s Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Genzen, MD, PhD. In the video, originally produced to help educate JMLAB’s workforce about the vaccine, Genzen explains what messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) is and describes how it works in the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines to help individuals develop an immune response to SARS-CoV-2. Genzen also describes other components of the vaccines to help answer common questions people have as healthcare workers and other at-risk groups start to get the first available doses of the vaccine.

The video is part of JMLAB’s ongoing efforts to educate its clients and the general public about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. A major provider of COVID-19 testing to hospitals and health systems nationwide, JMLAB offers COVID-19 molecular diagnostic and antibody testing, as well as numerous other tests used in the treatment of patients with the virus.
